traffic...

seems like the post I last made was about traffic too, but what the hell...

I recently moved in with my boyfriend who lives in Alpharetta. (That's about 20 minutes north of Atlanta without traffic.)

It's great and I love living with him, but it has affected the rest of my life. I used to live like five minutes from everything, and traffic wasn't an issue because I didn't have to use the highways to go anywhere unless I wanted to. Now, I have to use GA400.

Every day.

No. Matter. What.

For those of you not in the Atlanta area, I will explain why this is a problem.

GA400 is the only highway that goes to the northern suburbs of Roswell, Alpharetta and Cumming (that sounds dirty doesn't it?). These suburbs are where an AWFUL lot of white collar types live. (This is also where a lot of breeders live.) GA400's traffic problem is legendary. It's the road I never wanted to drive on because it's the one you hear about every day in the traffic reports. Click the link above during rush hour in Atlanta to see what I am talking about.

Anyhow, I have discovered that though I would prefer to not sit in traffic, it doesn't bother me as much as it used to. I don't know if it's maturity or the iPod or both. But I just get into a zen-like groove and drive. No big deal.

I read bumper stickers religiously though, and here's my favorite:

I really enjoy bumper stickers and vanity plates. I saw a plate on a red jeep the other day that said FFOOOO (For those non-web designers out there, that's a hexadecimal number for the color red) I thought it was clever.

In other news, I went with the aforementioned boyfriend to the Atlanta Juggling Association Groundhog Day Juggling Festival, where I learned that you shouldn't lean down and look in a duffel bag when there are people all around you throwing things, because you might just get hit in the back of the head with one of those things, and that hurts.

Seriously though, it was really fun and I met a lot of cool people including a fellow knitter, Amanda. Overall it was a great time.

I also learned to juggle two and a half clubs. I can hold the third one while throwing the other two, but haven't mastered throwing the third one yet. I can definitely juggle three beanbags now, and three silicone balls. I also learned some diablo stuff. If I hang in there, I will get the other stuff too, huh?

I will try to remember to post some photos when I get home tonight...

Holy moly, how weird to find your blog and then see my personal website linked. Crazy!

You're doing better than me with the juggling. I can do two balls but adding the third just makes a "klunk, klunk, klunk" sound on the ground. However, the timing of the klunks is apparently spot on what it should be...
